Raised in Southern California since the age of sixteen, Albert graduated from Alhambra High School. After graduating from high school he worked with a nonprofit organization called Southern Cooperative Community Warehouse. The cooperative was based on non-profit ideals and collective democratic management systems. In 1979, he and his best friend Steve Schroeder founded a non-profit cooperative to provide transportation of dry foods, and produce for the southern California cooperatives and health food stores. A year later they created a non-profit corporation called Araxa, which provided low-income families with housing and cooperative ideals.
In 1982, after careful consideration, Albert decided to embark on a visual arts career. He attended Van Nuys Community College where he studied life drawing with Sam Gofredo, Ventura Community College where he studied oil painting with Professor J. Koch, and Chaffey Community College where he studied plastic arts with Byron Willing.
In 2000, he was accepted at UCR where he attained a Bachelors of Fine Art degree with emphasis in Photography, and a second Bachelor in Art History/Administrative Studies. In 2005, he was accepted to the Academy of Art in San Francisco, where he attained a Masters of Fine Art.
Albert Aguirre has received several awards in the visual arts for his works, including, award of merit at the California Sate Art Fair Competition, Glendale Art Association, Pomona Art Association, and Texas Art Association. He has also worked with interior designers, mural art projects, and art galleries. He currently has an art studio in Colton CA, where he teaches art and creates artwork in oil, acrylic painting, and photographic medium. He currently resides in Riverside California and he is planning to attend Redlands University next year. Albert is currently working to attain a teacher’s credential in the single subject of art.
He is an open minded individual who loves creativity, music, sports and learning. He is a member of the SGI-USA organization in which, he is currently a district leader, and an active member of the Arts Department. He has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, and plans to travel overseas in the near distant future.
